IMAS Presents Mysterious Cosmos Family Fun Nights
Join Us for a Stellar Exploration of the Universe This Fall and Winter
The International Museum of Art & Science (IMAS) is excited to announce Mysterious Cosmos Family Fun Nights, an immersive educational series inviting families and friends to explore the wonders of the cosmos! Held monthly from November 2024 to February 2025, each event will feature hands-on activities, captivating presentations, and guided stargazing experiences. Admission is free, and registration is recommended.
Bring a foldable chair, sit back, and gaze into the mysteries of space with telescopes provided by UTRGV’s Center of Excellence in STEM Education. Each evening focuses on a different celestial theme:
- Wonders of the Solar System
Thursday, November 21, 2024 | 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
Explore our neighboring planets, moons, and other fascinating objects within our solar system. - Meteor Marvels
Thursday, December 19, 2024 | 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
Delve into the phenomena of meteors and meteor showers and discover what makes these “shooting stars” so remarkable. - Deep Space Discoveries
Thursday, January 23, 2025 | 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
Venture beyond our solar system to explore distant stars, galaxies, and the mysteries of deep space. - Stars Matter
Thursday, February 27, 2025 | 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
Learn about the formation, life, and death of stars, and why they matter in our understanding of the universe.
“We’re thrilled to partner with UTRGV’s Center of Excellence in STEM Education to bring the beauty and science of the cosmos to our community,” said Roni Cortez, IMAS Director of Education. “Each session offers unique hands-on experiences and insights into our universe, from our solar system to the far reaches of space.”
