La Plaza Eateries Join the Fight Against Hunger

McAllen, TX – Six of La Plaza dining establishments – Ben & Jerry’s, Burger King, Dippin’ Dots, Doc Popcorn, Popeyes, and Yard House – are participating in Empty Bowls, offering tastings from their menu, on October 22 at the Bert Ogden Arena in Edinburg, TX. Empty Bowls is the Food Bank of Rio Grande Valley’s largest fundraiser of the year, aiming to bring the community together to raise awareness and funds to fight hunger in the Rio Grande Valley.

Participating La Plaza eateries are delighted to join the fight against hunger and offer a culinary experience to attendees at the 18th Anniversary of Empty Bowls. With the purchase of a ticket, guests can choose a one-of-a-kind hand-painted ceramic bowl, serving as a reminder of the many “empty bowls” in the community that need to be filled. At Empty Bowls, guests will enjoy food from over 35 restaurants, music, and experience the magic of the community coming together to help fight hunger.
