McAllen Summer Internship Program has come to an end
The inaugural City of McAllen Summer Internship Program has come to a successful conclusion, leaving behind a stellar group of interns ready to join the workforce. This program brought together a talented cohort of college students and graduates from UTRGV – The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley and St. Mary’s University, who spent ten weeks immersing themselves in various departments within the city.
Throughout the program, the interns worked closely with city departments, gaining invaluable insights into best practices and industry skills. Their hands-on experience has equipped them with the knowledge and confidence needed to excel in their future careers.
“The internship program has been an incredible opportunity for these young professionals,” said a city representative. “Their enthusiasm, dedication, and fresh perspectives have made a significant impact, and we are proud of their achievements.”
As the program concludes, the City of McAllen bids farewell to this exceptional group of interns, with the hope that this is not a goodbye but a “see you later.” The experience and connections made during this internship will undoubtedly serve them well as they embark on their professional journeys.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the interns for their hard work and contributions, and to UTRGV and St. Mary’s University for their collaboration in this successful initiative. We look forward to seeing these bright individuals thrive in their future endeavors and hope to welcome them back to McAllen in the years to come.
Congratulations to all the interns, and best of luck in your future careers!
