Welcome New Summer Interns to Hidalgo County
On Tuesday, in Commissioners Court, Commissioner Eduardo “Eddie” Cantu proudly introduced two new summer interns to Precinct 2 as part of the Home to Texas UT Austin Summer Internship Program. This exciting initiative brings talented students from the University of Texas at Austin back to their roots, offering them an opportunity to gain valuable experience while contributing to their home communities.
The Home to Texas program is designed to connect students with meaningful internship opportunities in their hometowns, fostering a deeper connection between the students and their communities. By participating in this program, these interns will gain hands-on experience in local government operations, enhance their professional skills, and build a network of local contacts.
Commissioner Cantu expressed his enthusiasm for the program, stating, “We are thrilled to welcome these bright young individuals to Precinct 2. Their fresh perspectives and eagerness to learn will undoubtedly bring new energy to our team. We are committed to providing them with a valuable and enriching internship experience.”
The introduction of these interns is a testament to Hidalgo County’s dedication to investing in the future of its youth. By creating opportunities for students to engage with local government and community projects, the county is helping to cultivate the next generation of leaders.
We extend a warm welcome to our new interns and look forward to the positive impact they will make during their time with us. Welcome to Hidalgo County!
