Kanye West praises Hitler in a song that garners millions of views on X

New York, (EFE) – The song “Heil Hitler” by rapper Ye—better known as Kanye West—in which the artist praises Nazi dictator Adolf Hitler and whose cover art features a swastika, is garnering millions of views on X, while other platforms such as Spotify and Soundcloud have removed it from their apps.

The music video for the song, in which a group of African-American men chant the Nazi salute “Heil Hitler!” in unison, was released on X last Thursday by West himself and has already garnered 7.4 million views and more than 85,000 likes on the social network.

The song, released alongside the single “WW3” (‘World War III’)—whose lyrics also mention Hitler and claim he voted for Trump in the last election—was removed moments later by platforms such as Spotify, YouTube, and Soundcloud.

“Ye’s ‘Heil Hitler’ has been banned from all digital streaming platforms, while Randy Newman’s ‘Rednecks’ remains available. They literally leave black people down,” the controversial rapper complained on his X profile.

Newman’s song—a white man—includes the word “nigger,” a racial slur historically used to attack African Americans.

West’s video can also be found on Facebook, owned by Meta, reposted by several social media accounts.

The Anti-Defamation League (ADL) has launched a petition demanding Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg reinstate its policy against hateful conduct.

Last January, the company modified its hateful conduct policy, allowing, for example, people on its social media channels to call LGBTQ+ people “mentally ill” or to oppose the presence of women in the military or law enforcement.

This isn’t Ye’s first controversy. Last February, he claimed in a series of posts on X that he was a Nazi and that he controlled his then-partner, model Bianca Censori.

The singer then attacked X’s owner, Elon Musk, and the Jewish community, even claiming that he “loved Hitler” and was a Nazi.
