Kevin Spacey joins cast of upcoming action thriller

International News, (EFE) – American actor Kevin Spacey has joined the cast of the upcoming action thriller “The Awakening,” marking a new role for the two-time Oscar winner after being acquitted of several sex crime charges, Variety reported.

The film, which was announced last year, is being directed by Matt Routledge.

The cast includes Peter Stormare (Fargo), Alice Eve (Star Trek Into Darkness), Steve Berkoff (The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo), Julian Glover (Game of Thrones), Matt Hookings (The Expendables 4), and it will mark the debut of Justin Tinto, according to the trade magazine.

“The Awakening” follows Jason (Tinto) and Rebecca (Eve) as they uncover a conspiracy to take over the world. Their investigation leads them into a labyrinth of secrets, and their quest to reveal the truth becomes a thrilling race against time.

According to Variety, the film is being produced by Camelot Films and is currently in post-production.

The specialized outlet notes that since being acquitted of the nine counts of sexual offenses he was accused of in a criminal trial in the United Kingdom in 2023, Spacey has participated in several projects, mainly European, such as ‘Control’ and ‘Peter Five Eight’.
